About Me
Hello, my name is Rah, a father of nine, founder of Abimilechh Foundation in Rochester, NY.
After becoming a father in 1996, I set out to be the dad I always wished I had.
At first, I struggled with emotional traumas and mental health issues due to an inability to cope with loss, grief and barriers imposed by myself and others.
But then I was inspired to overcome these obstacles by friends and family members who saw me in my truth as a father.
I had the privilege of meeting and sharing my real-life experiences and lessons learned with parents worldwide since then and am excited to share these stories with you on the Fatha Torch Podcast.

About Joel Lesses:
Born in Buffalo, NY, Joel David Lesses who has lived in Nepal and Israel, is a poet expressing the landscape of our existence, capturing the mystical elements of our human being. World religion, poetry, spirituality, meditation, encompassing the makeup of our mind and life. The crux of his own journey is the manifestation of questions and answers to his own koan “What is the matter with me?” revealing the individual and universal aspects of our inherent and potent creativity. Everything is flux. Everything is poetry. Other passions include the intersection of poetry, spirituality, science, and phenomenology shared and disparate in the human experience, and transformative power of self-inquiry and introspection through contemplative and meditative practices with a belief that the fundamental transformation of individuals and our collective comes through barreling inward, relentlessly, the question, "Who am I?" or "What am I" or "What is the matter with me?" the latter being his question which after years of examination, shattered a false sense of self. Joel was previously voted ‘Buffalo’s Best Poet’, founded WNY’s ‘Ground and Sky Poetry Series’, and created the podcast Unraveling Religion, which explores world mysticism and spirituality. His autobiography, Odyssey of Autumn’s Breath, is in-progress, and combines much of his life’s poetry with prose.
About Unraveling Religion Podcast:
'These mystical and practical discussions are explorations of spirituality and its relation to religion and psychology, with questions always. Beyond a specific religion or spiritual practice; what do we share, what do we have in common? These talks are a work in progress evolving our rich inner life, including reflections on religious texts, poems, art, and what is common in our human experience enhancing understanding of our relationships: with ourselves, with one another, and with the world we share.'

The Father’s Role in a Child’s Development
Sunday Oct 02, 2022
Sunday Oct 02, 2022
Episode 3 I'm an advocate for fathers. I think it's important that we be more available to our children and make an effort to bond with them. Our role in their cognitive, social and emotional development is crucial, and we need to be more present in their lives. Unfortunately, many fathers are absent, either physically or emotionally. But when we are active in our child's life, they will turn out more well-rounded and stable.
"When you feel good, they feel good. When you're happy, they're extremely happy. And when you're sad, they feel guilty every day."
In this episode, you will learn:
1. The role of fathers in a child's cognitive, social, and emotional development.2. The importance of fathers being emotionally available to their children.3. Why a mother's role is just as important as the father's role.
